Default Heart transplant

Hi guys, most of you probably don't know me, but i wanted to post this.

On this day 20 years ago i was given an 80% chance of living for another 5 years. 20 years on, I am still here. Today, i am celebrating my life of the last 20 years. Somewhere in the UK, there is a family remembering their loss of a family member, they gave me the gift of LIFE. How do you thank somebody for such a gift?
I will be celebrating by spending the day with my beautiful daughter, whom without my transplant, would not be here. Many miracles happen in the world. Stay positive in times of hardship my friends, and I thank everybody who has helped me through some very hard times in my recent past. (tonight, i am going to light a lantern and release it up into the sky in memory of a beautiful person who saved my life, you are always in my thoughts, whoever you are/were)
Some people disagree with transplantation. But for those who don't have a problem with it, Please do carry a donor card/sign the donor register. I am a prime example of a successful heart transplant. Many are not so lucky and die on the waiting list.

Thanks for reading guys.

Thumbs up

With all of the bad s**t that goes on in the world, it's great to hear a story like this. I've signed up to the donor register and I carry my card. I also give blood as often as I'm allowed to. I benefitted from an organ donor 10 years ago myself, and that act of kindness stopped my world from crumbling.

I hope that one day I can do my bit to pass on the chance of life to someone else, so that they can live longer than they they expected to.

Thanks Guys. I had a great day with close friends and family. The lanterns went up into the air like a space shuttle . We sent one up in memory of my donor, and another one to thank him for the added bonus that is my beautiful daughter. Without the transplant, she would not be here.
Thanks to all who posted a response, your kind words are very much appreciated. My r/c family

Good story that, its nice to read something possitive coming from a negative act.

I'm all for donating as long as the person who gets the organ deserves it.
