Hi all...
Just after some local advice really...trying to find a nice hotel for me and the wife to stay at before easter in or around york itself. I did look at some of the hotels on google, but the prices are way out our league! Any suggestions for a reasonable hotel/b&b for about £200 for 4-5 nights? Cheers Mark

I would recommend the holday inn express, its next to the hopgrove pub which does a fantastic carvery. Its located on the out skirts of york and just a 10 mins taxi drive into the centre. Dont forget York is the tourist capital of the world so it wont be that cheap. Other than that there are loads of family run b and b's what could be a good price, i would go for the further out of town ones for better value.

If you want a cheap (ish) B&B then look for one around Scarcroft Road, Southlands Road or Bishopthorpe Road. All of those are walking distance to the city centre.
