Default lrp sxx version 2 problems

hi all, have got a lrp sxx version 2 the 2wd spec one with no heatsink or fan,has been giving me problems in my last 2 finals.
the esc is set at number 1 feel the boost function is disabled and drag brake 4,its in a new b4.1 with gearing 81 spur and 22 pinion and im running an x12 10.5 stock spec motor.
the motor has been coming of pretty hot at nearly 80 degrees and esc at around 50 degrees this is on smaller tight indoor tracks at chadderton motor and esc temp ok.
what is happening ive made mistakes on 2 occasions where my car has got stuck and have tried to blip the throttle to get me back on the track this is when the esc cuts i then have to switch off then back on again and its fine,i had the older sxx with the heatsink and fan never gave me no problems but this new sxx version 2 2wd is ruining my races, much appreciated if anyone can shed any light on this.thanks

What's your slipper like Jamie? If its a bit tight it might be straining the motor on the carpet track you were running on. If everything's getting hot then I'd guess its no one thing thats faulty and you could try and change the gearing, your car is crazy fast for a 10.5 .

The gearing sounds way off to me. I would run a 6.5 on 22 or 23.

Are you sure that the motor isn't stalling when you are trying to jump back onto the track? I am sure the inboard diagnostics on lrp speedos indicate a stalled rotor. The way around a stalled rotor would be to turn your esc off and on again.

definately am gonna try different gearing this should hopefully sort the heat problem out,it does also sound from the last post that the rotor is stalling how do i combat this if i get stuck do i not touch the throttle at all?

as for my slipper clutch Mark was just slipping nicely last night so dont think thats the issue def think its the rotor stalling which is a pain in the backside, cause the natural thing to do when you get stuck is to give it some throttle to try get yourself back on the track especially if your doing well in your race and then the esc goes off really f$£%eds me off.
