Are Titanium turnbuckles worth the money...

I have a B4 and was thinking about upgrading the turnbuckles to Titanium ones. But are they much stronger than the stock ones? and do the stock ones break often anyway?

The TI ones bend, so you aren't assured anything by upgrading.. if you bend one then I'd think about it.. but to be honest with you there are probably more important things to spend yer cash on.

You have to do something amazing to bend the AE blue Ti turnbuckles, they're MUCH stronger than the steel ones you get in the cheaper kits. Also the threads in the steel ones are slightly smaller diameter than the Ti ones, so it's much easier for a ballcup to jump some threads in an impact.

I found those threads and indeed various threads in AE kits to be of varying quality.. some are great some are virtually non existant.. Uhmmm, yes it was a bit of a crash, vicky going the wrong way down the straight at batley, me head on full speed with the lazer.

as well as Ti turnbuckles can you get stronger ball ends. i seem to snap these on a regular basis and this knackers up the set up of the car when you cant get the thread out.

Hello Craig CVDs dont bend very often only if you put the power on when the wheel is hanging off which I have seen many times. I bent a shock shaft at Bury north west rgional the other week on my Losi and it was one of the gold nitride ones (after the front wishbone snapped). So they can bend.

I know that GPM make a set of Ti turnbuckles that come with Ti ball ends and New ball cups but ive been told these are s**t quality (can anyone confirm that). and i dont think you can bend a CVD that easily.

I've bent a cvd before when the ball end comes off at the rear.

TI nitride shock shafts are just coated steel, and they still rust! Ask mr Dixon!

Yes stay well away from anything GPM/Fastrax, the alloy + ti they use is about as hard as play doh :-?
