Default Core receivers, old and new compatability?

Hi all

I'm running a Core RC 2.4 stick set (those cheap ones everyone likes) and since I have a couple of models I have a have been slowly getting new receivers to bung in them. The last time I did, the Etronics one was a few quid cheaper for the same thing with a different sticker on it.

However, I notice now, in Modelsport, there are newer ones with blue cases and the servo apertures on the front a la normal RXs as opposed to the "old" ones where they plugged in in the end.

What I want to know is, does anyone have an idea as to weather they are usable with the same tranny as what I use with the "old" core RXs? (did you get that?)

I have a core Tx which has the black Rx with it. I've purchased a new Rx, which is the blue one and understand it should work fine with my Tx. Unfortunately I'm away at the moment so can't try it out till mid feb but will update then unless someone else can.

the new blue ones are not compatible with the old type, different transmission types (DSSS vs FSSS IIRC)

the old ones are still readily available though.
