Default new to the forum - just ordered a DF-03 - Questions!

hi, my 1st post

i just ordered the Dark Impact and a few hopups for it. i dont know why.. impulse buying! i guess its cos i never had a buggy when i was younger.. always touring cars.

so i read the DF-03 review and have noted a slipper clutch is recommended. whats it do? and what motor is recommended i use?

also, i need radio gear.. always used accoms in the past.. are they still ok for entry level?

and lastly.. what batteries / charger should i aim to get?

hope to get some good use out of this now iv ordered it.. maybe some racing. all advice welcomed!

thanks

A 19 turn spec motor is ideal for this buggy the checkpoint motor stands out, just make sure you have a decent speed controller which will run it.Also maybe some decent shocks as the kit ones are not great.
Acoms radio gear is ok as a starter (there is a 2.4ghz steerwheel system available very soon around £60)

so what 20+ turn motor is recommended? i dont want anything that will struggle (slow) nor do i want something thats going to melt the gears and drain the battery in 5 mins! but a decent amount of speed is a must

go for the 3racing carbon shock towers and not the alloy ones, buy a set of titanium turnbuckles, the alloy ones will bend, not to sure about the 3racing shocks, not had much luck with them on a saloon car though.

Order up at least a pair of front CVD driveshafts, otherwise you will chip the hell out of the dogbone driveshafts and they will snap. Also, get a 3Racing diff outdrives for the rear to.
