Hi,
I presume you have the newer fhss type transmitter also otherwise you cannot use a mix of old tx and new rx as they use different 2.4ghz setups

There is no need to use modulate function on transmitter like the old type of receiver just 3 easy steps

1) turn on transmitter
2) power up car esc
3) press and hold bind button for a few seconds until light goes green

thats it all done

they made 2 new blue receivers 1 is cr151(this is compatible with the older model with the lcd screen) the other is cr153 (this is for the new basic model)

i believe you still have to follow the original instructions for the old 1 otherwise it wont bind hope that helps

The previous receivers were DSSS and the newer version are FHSS so don't think they are compatible are they? Not sure what the difference is, and can only assume FHSS is the better type as it's newer.
