Trying to get everything together for the car when it comes, can anyone who's driven the car recommend a good starting point for the shock oil? Maybe even give a bit of insider info on the build?
Cheers in advance. |

Hi Bagman,
Whilst I'm more than happy to help, I think we'll all be better off hanging fire until the cars arrive - especially in terms of the build - as we had no instructions to go on. I imagine this forum will be buzzing with info and support as soon as the first cars hit. All I can say is that we are trying, as a team over here in Europe and with the US TLR guys, to ensure that we can give constructive and useful support for both mid and rear car configurations. Much of the set up you will end up on will be determined by your track surfaces and tyre choice - but we'll be more than happy to help you along your way. Right now, in terms of oils, all i can say is that we've run between 25Wt and 37.5Wt oil depending on temperature and conditions over here. All oils refer to Losi grades. I can also say that over here on our tracks, we are running harder grade springs in testing than the US team are finding. I would anticipate that the kits will ship with springs that will suit their dirt / dusty tracks. As with nearly every other car I have ever owned and built, I expect we'll end up running some of option springs. Even our springs came with no colours or markings on them but I feel harder than the kit red fronts and grey rears and so I expect they are probably similar to White or Yellow grade on the rear and Silver and Green on the front. As the grip comes up in the summer time, I can imagine that we'll go possibly even harder with the springs - but TLR are accomodating the same range of springs for the new 12mm shocks as they have done in the past for their older shocks. Always available to help but right now, there's little more I can say I'm afraid - but if you keep reading here or our websites, I'm sure the information will flow as soon as the cars are available. |

Thanks for that. I'll hang fire, just like to say though that your feedback on this site has been pretty impressive.
