Default B4.1 Wheelies!

Hi All,

I need some advice please.

It would seem my car suffers from a little known feature called 'Sudden Wheelie Syndrome' or SWS for short.

In one race the slipper can be set to 'no wheelie situation' known as NWS.

Now, when set to NWS it can go to SWS and then back to NWS in one race.

Also, in one race it will work in NWS, then the next race go to SWS.

Now, I'm presently thinking of putting a patent on this and make ££££ but I think I'd just like to design a device to stop automatic switch function.

Could it be a faulty slipper clutch??

is the nut just loosening itself through out the race?

tried little bit of thread-lock on the nut?

Not tried the thread lock.... assumed a nyloc was enough TBH. If anything, it gets tighter, which is a problem!, I could understand if it was the reverse!

I go from NWS to SWS... not visa versa

They tighten a bit as it gets hot, but it sounds like it's just not loose enough to start with.

Get some more weight in the front, on the bulkhead or under the servo...

If you run the slipper too loose it becomes "snatchy" and does exactly what you're describing. Tighten it up until it doesn't really slip too much and you should be good.

Have you tried other things to get rid of the wheelies like throttle finger , speedo settings, different wind motor?

What wind are you running with what lipo and which speedo?

Running a 6.5 without weight is asking for trouble, either way loosen the slipper until it stops wheelieing to prove the point one way or another.
