At club level it can certainly hold it's own against more "exotic" cars....and regional level it's starting to struggle (although it was a ZX-5 that won this years North West 4wd regional series) and at nationals it's an "also ran". I drive one regularly at my club, and it's plenty good enough for that. It's fast, easy to set up, forgiving to drive and above all, robust.

But as with all cars, ability comes into play....give me an Aero A1 and I would still make the top of the "B"/ bottom of the "A" with it at my club. The car alone wont make a winner out of the driver.

i been racing mine for 12 months now, its a great buggy, very few breakages, and been very competitive.

a couple of hop ups are required, but once u done them, the car is bullet-proof

Keith Robertson ran a ZX5 at Oswestry this year and qualified 4th in the B, so it can be quick in the right hands, or even Keith's

the ZX5 is just as capable as any other 4wd. The only reason it doesn't feature much at nationals is due to a lack of top drivers, and that is down to a lack of a Team Kyosho over here.

I took the car to 4th at the F3/4/5s so it is more than capable at regional level.

As said before, it's strong, reliable, very safe and forgiving. Plus spares are VERY cheap compared to a lot of other makes.

Best of all as a buyer is their second hand value, you should be able to pick up a fully modded chassis with plenty of spares and wheels for around £120 or less.

Hello everybody,

Can you tell me if the KMC saddle pack conversion is worth buying it ?

I don't think the KMC is needed. I race a pretty stock ZX5 (has the rear middle arm kit) and can TQ and win with the best of them at our local track which is chock full of BJ4's etc.

Maybe you should wait for the new one. Its a beautiful machine.

Other wise, pretty much anything Kyosho makes can hang. They make some of the best cars in the world. You just need to drive it to the podium.

Hi Johnnyboy,

Have you any set-up sheets for your ZX5 and any picture without the shell in order to sell how you install your brushless system (enough place ?)
