Cougar SV: Club Racer ?

I have an pre-owned Cougar SV (1st batch).
The car needs some parts (diff is ruined, and some other bits).. the "repair" cost is something around 60-75 Pounds.

I´m from Portugal, and I currently run 4WD with DEX410. I love 4wd, but i want to put this 2wd on the track for some runs at local carpet indoor club. We play around at mid week.. not racing, but just some practice and casual runs just for "joy". One pack, one beer

I want something more casual to play around than my 410... with less maintenance and more run time.

Here in Portugal are very few Cougar´s running, and the ones the i´ve seen running (including mine, at the hands of previous owner) didn´t seem the most reliable car in the track...

For comparison purposes, the B4.1 FT and RTR that run at this track is a good side. The car handles fine and seems very reliable.

For a 1st batch car, what upgrades / parts do you recommend to proper set this car to a very reliable level ?

The 2nd generation gear case seems to be a must have.
And about other things ? Gears ? Ball Ends ?
