Default Astro tyres???

ok i know most of the world and his wife use angle spikes on wet astro, and mini pins (albeit cut heavily) in the dry, but i was trawling through the internet last night and saw some other tyres which looked like angles on the inside but moved too a more gapped minipin on the outside but for the life of me i cant remember where i saw them or who makes them. is there anyone out there who knows, or runs an alternative on astro. i just cant seem too get on with angles, with or without the outer row cut off.

Schumacher Mini Spikes are a great tyre. Available in Silver (Soft) or Yellow (Standard).

Just like 1/10 Mini Spikes, I find them useful from dry to slightly wet, if it's really wet I'd then move onto Spirals.

never thought of spikes, i use a set on the front of the cougar which work well, do you happen too know where i can get a set of both (spirals and spikes),

ok, i take that back just looked on your website, i was thinking about rim sizes though, i know they will fit on v2's but what about putting them on v3's too keep the sidewalls a bit stiffer.

Mini pins with 3 rows outer and two rows inner cut off and demmeled off (must do) for front
Mini pins with 2 rows outer and one row inner cut off and demmeled again
Hardish inserts Front and rear

You can do the same as above with spirals and run in the dry

I tend run mini spikes in wet but some members run dry with one row outer cut and dremmeled off.

:-)

These tryes were also tried by a few drivers at Round 2 of the CML Winter Series that is held at Frankley a all astro track and seemed to work very well

The drivers used them as they were with no cutting of the rows and come as non pre mounted or pre mounted ready to use;

http://www.gbmodelsport.co.uk/produc...artNo=D8SPXSMC

You can order theses through any of the dealers which tells you on the contact us part who the dealers are

Hope this helps you

Rob

At the CML it is a controlled Tyre of (Rallycross)Angles and Crimes (Truggies) are open tyre ....END OF they have been checked and briefed at Drivers Briefing and Scott Checks the tyres in the Pits before the finals start

IF ANYONE IS FOUND TO BE USING ANYTHING ELSE THERE ARE RULES IN-PLACE FOR QUALIFYING AND FINALS

Im sure and looking at the post it was meant for the Racecentral Winter Series which was an open tyre and the week after at the same track

Lol I'm not bothered at all buddy, i was just pointing out it was controlled tire if you didnt realis thats all.

Think Glyn found it more of a problem than us....... Because it would of caused alot of questions from other drivers if they saw this & as Glyn needs to stand by the rules like anyother club when holding event's like he is at present.

At you cleared it up so no other driver, start's asking questions or cause any problems at the track for him

i am sure that glynn, was just pointing out that he runs the club by the rule book, and that if there was any infractions he would deal with it.
I have not known him for long but have the utmost repsect for him, and the club, as well as all the other racers that race there. They welcomed me in (a southerner at that) and have been always helpfull and understanding. from my perspective you have not caused any trouble at all in the post. i am just looking for alternatives for angle spikes as astro tyres and have been helped no end by all the people posting here.
Many thanks too all who have taken the time too help

Yeah Hedgehogs are good on wet astro

My choice of tyres on astro for Rallx are

Wet
Schumacher Spiral (yellow mounted aggressively)
Angles
Turbo Rats
Hedgehogs
sabre tooth

damp
Trimmed spirals
Trimmed angles
full mini spikes (yellow)

Dry
Trimmed mini spikes
severely trimmed mini pins! (yellows)
