Default dodgy diffs?

this might sound a little weird but when the bug is in the air, if I throttle it to level it up the bug pivots, as in the back right wheel points down and the front left goes skywards, whats causing this?

Which car is it?

Sounds like torque reaction to me.

410R I've assumed from sig (from from that it sounds like a shaft driven 4wd torque reaction )

Buy a belt driven car or a shaft car where the center shaft rotates the other way (ZX5-FS), although that only softens the effect (not sure how, not bothered to work it out) and doesn't eliminate it.

To be honest it's never troubled me enough on the Lazer to think much about it although it was really noticable on the BJ4we.

Buy a belt car, or run a less powerful motor...

Doesn't the shaft, being attached to the spur gear, rotate the opposite way to the motor anyway, regardless of how it is implemented?

It's a trait I suspect all shaft-drive buggies are affected by (possibly to varying degrees); like Roger says, Front-to-Rear belt driven is the only sure way to avoid the physics that cause the "twisting" you describe.

Would probably be better to have this question in the Durango forum too...

The only thing I can think that might make this very noticeable, is if your running a lot of drag brake setting on the speedo...

Try turning it off, or down to the minimum setting.

As I say I am not 100% sure as I've never been concerned enough with the very slight effect on the Lazer to calculate it all but I suspect it can be explained on if the largest torque couple is acting towards or away from the center line of the the car as in most cases the shaft is central that means the motor would be the most significant (off center and probably heavier).

If I get a few minutes I will do the calculations and post up.
