Default Best place for Trf201?

Just wondering where you chaps get your 201's and spares from?

Stella Models,Rc mart? Any others worth looking at?

Are you getting hit with import duty on kits? All my spares I got a while ago from HK went under the radar but never ordered a kit from HK

I got hit by customs the last 2 times i ordered, no matter if Singapore or Hongkong. You could try it because in the Christmas weeks there will just way too much oackets to open them all up, but there is still a risk.
Try www.modellbau-seidel.de

They have the 201 in stock as well as the 511 and the 502X. You won´t a better Tamiya online shop in Europe. They have ALL parts in stock which in stock, they ship extremely fast and are reliable. Also they speak nice English i heard although i never tried it because i speak German

Shipping is not high so Seidel is worth a try if you want to avoid customs. If you include customs you sometimes get a price higher than Seidel, sometimes it´s the same, sometimes lower, depends on the kit.

Hi,

I bought my TRF201 kit from Stella and also buy most of my spares from them or RC-Mushroom

The Kit, I ordered the kit/body/wing/rear uprights/front spring set and updated gear set, with shipping cost me £220

I ordered it at 4:05pm on a Friday and it was in my hands at 12:10pm on the next Tuesday, and i've never been hit by customs when I order from HK.

Was just amazed with the sevice !

Now looking to order a TRF511 with this in mind

Ive just received some Tamiya 502's this morning along with spares from HK, it went through Coventry and they charged me just the VAT @ 17.5% on the total (No import duty 4.3%) then Parcel force put their usual £12.50 handling charges on top.

Youll be very lucky to have something come through customs these days without getting hit if its worth more than $100 on the box.

But fear not chaps, there will be a new online Tamiya store opening in January which will be stocking all the kits and spares in the UK at those nice HK prices. More to follow..........

Can you give an idea on the 511 and 502 prices? And you'll be stocking spares for these?

Did you pay for additional insurance, as the seller will then put the actual price on the parcel. Hence why you got hit with extra charges. Yes sellers should always put the actual amount on the parcel, but most underdeclare.

No I didnt pay for additional insurance, it came via EMS then parcel force. But I did pay 17.5% on top of the entire declared amount including the shipping. The customs charge alone came to a fortune lol.

It's not worth having items under declared as they log every parcel and can back charge you if caught falsifying amounts.
