http://www.nebula-media.com/ is a good place to start, you pay roughly 70quid for the digitv box and then your sorted, any software updates are free and it comes freeview ready.

the biggest part in my opinion is getting a good quality aerial for a signal

I've not used any other devices for TV personally, but i've had this for about 3 years and been solid from start til now, so i can certainly recommend it.

can't wait till 2011 though

Nebula Media Solutions Ltd.
from early 2011, this range will be extended with the inclusion of multiple-tuner USB and PCIe (PCI express) models, and tuners capable of Freeview-HD (DVB-t2 high definition) reception.

Loads of USB dongle options available so you're spoilt for choice but the critical thing - as has been said already - is getting a good aerial feed to the dongle in the first place. If you are near an aerial point just plug into that but if you are out and about you will really struggle with those stupid little aerials you get with the dongle, they're really not worth unpacking unless you are trying to use them right next to the transmitting tower!
