depending on the track and tyres you are running, anything from 10-49 to 11-45 should be fine. any bigger pinion and it all starts to heat up a lot and it will be crazy fast

yeap, the power to weight ratio is silly in the micros. Maybe turn down the punch on the speedo if you have that option. Or maybe add a little bit of throttle curve through the transmitter profile?

Ive run 10\45 for over a year now on a 10.5 and it works well,it revs a bit at caldicots big straights where i run at about 90-100% throtle end point, at club rounds at worm i use about 85%,temps are always warm to touch which is a good sign all is ok,i also run a yeah racing fan and heatsink ...HTH

In Sweden most racers run 11/49 with the mongoose 8,5.

Default gearing

i use 10/49 on my lrp shark extended with novak mongoose 8.5, and knock it down to 75% to 80% on my handset, and it stays pretty cool after every race, should be a great setup for the 10.5 also
