Default trakpower dark side

Considering some track power lipos and i see the 3800 ones are classed as "entry level" can anyone explain why they say this? Or is it worth spending more and buying one 5000 lipo?

Doing this as an upgrade from turnigy 5200 lipos, great lipos just to tall for my car with the carbon strap

I have been using the 3600 35c stick packs for a few months in 2wd, 1 fully charged pack will easily last for 2, 5 minute races. But dont forget they are not BRCA legal yet.

Can i ask why they will never be brca legal?

And why are they "entry level" lipos?

Presumably because they won't ever be submitted to the BRCA, therefore can't be legal for sanctioned events. If they have a new model coming out they won't want to keep making the old ones.

Purely because you can not use them for serious racing as they are not on the list I'd guess.

The cells are identical to the Robotronic cells IIRC and they work very well in a competition enviroment!

A good upgrade from turnigy 5200mah 30-40c lipos then?

Just want two new lipos that perform better and give more punch!

I know nothing about regionals and nationals so wont be attending them yet

If you can get them at a good price (I think JE SPARES have them in on some sort of offer but not sure exactly).

If you need LiPo's NOW then buy whatever appeals, the darks should be fine. If you can eait a couple of months until the list is out then you may be better off in the long run (I bet when the bug bites you WILL want to do the odd regional at least) in buying something that is homologated for racing use.

If the dark cells are the same as my Robotronics then they are a very good cell indeed.

All that said if you are using a 5200 40c pack you will have to go a long way to increase punch (and why whould you want to IMHO) if they are still working as they should.
