Help, lipo virgin.

Hi, i'm looking for a little advice on charger, balancer and leads for my new lipo.

Bought my first lipo (An LRP Competition Car line Hardcase 5300 40c) Now i have a charger which can charge the lipo, but it doesn't have a built in balancer. So i'd like a balancer to go between the charger and lipo, but i'm confused by all these different kind of plugs and connectors.

The lipo has 4mm corralys and 2mm balance plug, but i've seen different kinds of balance leads with different colour wires and connectors on the end.. and i'm not sure of they're all compatible with all kinds of balancers.


Has anyone any advice on the best balancer/balance lead combo that would suit this pack?

Trakpower v-balance is quite popular and is supplied with a 2mm plug for balancing

I have 2 Demon 5000/25c lipo's that have lost their balance leads... I spoke to Nick Adams (CEO) at Demon and he assured me that the cells could be charged without the balance leads being used, indeed they had charged their cells many, many times this way during testing without incident... as a consequence, I still use these cells 12 months on without a problem...

A point to consider is a charger with the balance lead connection built in such as the B6, or one of the cheaper HK versions of the B6 charger if funds are tight...
