Default Hobbywing ESC in 1/12 and 1/12

Hi

Is anybody use Hobbywing Xeron 60A or 120A in 1/12 scale?

So I tried to get some starting point in rctech.net, but looks like there are only touring car guys.

So I'm setting up my first 1/12 car for first training day and... Everything works grate on table (waiting for servo). I got program box as well. BUT. I don't know what software to use for 1S lipo on 1/12 and would be nice to know some starting point about settings as well for small track ( 1 basketball field)

What about fan? can I remove it?

My setup - 10.5 novak balastic, 1S SMC 5300, Xeron 60A

Hi mate

I did put the hobbywing 60 amp in my 12th and it got hot really quick just running around my lounge for a minute so I would say you will need the fan. Mine was the extreme stock speedo though so that may be different.
Hobbywing have just brought out a 1s speedo with a 6 volt output on it too.But I dont know when it is available in the uk.

Try to search for people running Speed Passion. It's the same including software Just don't tell them you're running Hobbywing

Thanks for advices mates. Not shure about gearing as well for 1S lipo (SMC 5300mah) and 10.5T brushless. I use 64dp 96 tooth spur and I have pinions from 20 to 40. Just trying to put togeather car for the first training day

You can aim for rollout of about 55 to 60 mm for 10.5 @ 1S.

Rollout = Pi * (Rear Tire Diameter) * Pinion / Spur

In your case, if your rear tire is 46mm, then the pinion you will need is from 36t (rollout 55mm)to 40t (rollout 60mm).

Remember as your rear tires wear, you will need to gear up to maintain the same rollout.

______________

It is also recommended to use 120A esc in 1s 1/12, since the current drawn from such a low voltage will increase heat quite significantly.

Hi I got my Hobbywing 1S 120 Amp speedo from here http://www.racersinexile.org.uk Hobbywing informed me that they were the Authorised Distributor for the XERUN series of Speed Controls and motors.

The 1S is great it runs quite cool and I have updated the software for 10.5 to the Hobbywing Supercharger Firmware and my WGT is mental fast on 1S. the 6V is I believe 3amps so runs all the power hungry digital servos. It also runs 2S so I can put it in my TC if I want to and it switches automatically 1S to 2S.

All in all a cool speedo and was cheapish too.

just my tuppence

What do you mean "I have updated the software for 10.5 to the Hobbywing Supercharger Firmware"?

Do you run the 518 software? Or something else ?

Cherry, dont hide behind hearsay and rumour, coz its common knowledge that you are behind racers in exile so why make sound like you are a customer?
