Please could somebody knowledgeable in the realms of setup changes help.
i want to know (theoretically) what difference it makes to handling when: A) wheelbase is made shorter/longer at the front axle, B) wheelbase is made shorter/longer at the rear axle. Thanks in advance. |

Assuming that the ONLY thing you are changing is the wheelbase (by finding a way to leave all the other geometry completely unaffected whch is pretty much impossible, especially on the front).
A car with a shorter wheelbase be less stable and turn tighter. Shortening the wheelbase at the front will move the weight distribution forward, so more overall grip at the front. Shortening the wheelbase at the rear will move the weight distribution rearwards, so more overall grip at the rear. Although the range of adjustments available in buggies is so small that I personally cannot feel any difference. But you may be able to. 2mm on a 270mm wheelbase is less than 1% difference. |
