Right, I've got my TRF501x which, as any car, needs the speedo and servo connected to the reciever (in this case an RX-311).
The spare aux socket I have used to power a fan to keep things cooler. Now I want to power a Personal Transponder in the same car, but I have no spare connections left. What gives? Will the B/DSC port provide power? Or do I need to split some leads somewhere to power, for example, my fan and PT at the same time? Here's the connector I mean:- ![]() Thanks all.

wire the fan to the battery leads, it means the fam gets more power and so goes faster, from the reciever u only get limited voltage
or get a Y lead, they are only pence i think

hey fiddy !! if your going to run the fan off the battery wires, make sure you got a good fan that can handle the extra power.dont use a cheap one,go for a muchmore or a cool can fan.
hows the 501 going????? |

Hey Mick (and everyone),
Turns out I just tried it out in the B/DSC connector on the Rx and it works. It actually runs a little faster than in my AUX connector as well, which is interesting. Must have a slightly higher voltage output on the B/DSC. I didn't know it would run even faster still straight from the cells, so if I get over heating probelms I may well try this in future. But for now it seems like it might not be needed. At least I know it will work, and fortunately Ihad the good sense to get a Much More fan in the first place. The 501x is going great as it happens Mick. Took me a while to get the brushless system in it (now a fan and PT too!), and it took me a few trips on Oople to get the gearing right, but once done it handled very well out of the box. The only things I've done since is change the oil and springs and it now feels very well bedded and confident to drive fast! I had to get some long-boss pinions too because for some reason my X11 motor didn't have the correct amount of 'reach' to the spur. I also found the kit ballcups and screws are shitty, so put Losi ballcups all round and a stainless screw set. Apart from that I haven't looked back since and the shell you painted for me got some attention! ![]() You getting one then? Russ.
