Default Budget TRF501X

Looks like a TA05 with some TRF501 bits.

I posted the same pics on rctech a few hours ago

I think the car could be quite good as a club car with a few mods.

I wouldn't mind having one and bolting all my 501 bits on to it.

The body is better IMO plus there's no undertray to wear out, and the car will suit those who hate saddle-packs. I like the sealed drive-train too, as long as it doesn't take an hour to get to the diffs

Running at a major meeting last weekend (which I won incidently ), I swapped out my front diff for the one-way in less than 7 minutes.

I don't think the body can be used on a TRF501X. If you look closely, you'll notice that the engine position is quite different. On the TRF, the motor is in front of the central layshaft.

I actually do not like the sealed drivetrain. Given the fact that every now and then the rear TRF501 belt needs replacing or even snaps.
On the other hand : I'm now able to replace a belt in under 20 mins

One thing I'm intersted in is the front shocktower. It's in flexible Tamiya plastic so it must be pretty indestructible.

It is the DB-01. I like the brushless-friendly ESC mounting spot and the not-all-the-way-through battery slots.
