Default GM Genius 120 Model7168

Hi All

Can you upgrade the firmware on these from 7.2 to 11.* to get the variable timing features etc that you get on the 2010 model?

Thanks

Dave

the firmware can be upgraded, but it has to be done by the factory on the 7.2 models. After the factory has upgraded it, I am led to believe it can then be upgrdaded as and when required by the user....

if it's the older model speedo (7.x firmware) then it can be upgraded to 8 at the factory, but you cannot then update from there yourself as it's different hardware in the 2010 version of the speedo.

Version 8 is similar to the 11+ firmware but the hardware is different so it'll never be the same.

for a 6.5 (especially in a buggy) I wouldn't worry too much, you've got enough power.

V1.3.6 and V1.4.0 work with 7.2

I think 1.6.3 works with the 2010 speedo's only, but I'm not 100% sure if it works with 7.2 also

1.4.0.25 was the last of the "old" versions of software that was specifically for the older spec speedos.

In theory 1.6.3 might work, but probably not worth the bother!

Thanks guys 1.6.3 does have an option for 7.2, but if 1.4 works that will do me as it looks less complicated!
