All,
We potentially have a problem where we may have a number of drivers in both classes who may be able to register 600 points from a 600 maximum. We need to agree on a 'ties' ruling or agree to allow joint winners. Personally, I think a championship, should have a champion and a runner-up. BRCA Rule book entry about 'ties': If any scores are tied at the end of a Championship, the highest scores that counted will decide the tie. If a tie still exists, the next highest scores that counted will be compared and so on until the tie is decided. does not decide the tie, the positions will be declared equal.Only counting scores from the series will be compared, all other scores will be discarded. If this procedure RCCAOI Rule book entry about 'ties': Best 4 rounds from 6 to count, the championship winner will be the person with the highest number of points. In the event of a tie for any position then the 5 th round shall be included. If this still results in a tie then the 6th round shall be included. If this still results in a tie then the best placing shall be used i.e. Most 1st places, 2nd places, etc.If in the event of a round being cancelled and not re-run, the best 4 from 5 shall count for the purpose of calculatingresults. If in the event of 2 rounds being cancelled then the best 4 rounds shall count. If less than 4 rounds havebeen completed then they shall be deemed null and void for that class. As neither of these rules are fully applicable, I suggest we do one of the following, although I'm not sure how we decide which one.... email vote? 1. Have a shout-out day - winner takes all
2. Competitor with most 100 point scores from whole season wins 3. The driver who was first to score the maximum 4. The driver who was first to register a win |

This is where the open ended championship falls down, for this year can we not extend the counting rounds to 8 from 10 or something and then for next year pin down the 6 counting rounds into more like a regional format and then use other rounds as a club rounds. I appreciate that for a regional format we would ideally want more than 1 venue but if we continue with the Jag event for example this could be counted as a regional round rather than a club round. This in effect would lead to 3 championships, I.e. Club, regional and national. If we do stick to what we have from this year with best 6 to count and a multiple tie then a once off shootout is hardly fair to the competitors involved IMO. I think that what we need to do is learn how to do things smarter next year. That's all for now folks I'm back off to the Maui sunshine!!!

For next year I'll be proposing that the first Sunday in every month is a "Championship Round" - 6 rounds during May to September with your best 4 scores to count. Every Sunday throughout the year will be a "Clubman Round" where F4 and F5 drivers earn points every week with 70% (rounded down) of the total rounds run counting - at the moment that would be 11 rounds to count from 16. Rather than a regional series, I'd like to see the RCCAOI National expanded out to at least 3 rounds - all to count with 3 different venues - Lucan, Cork and Drop-In or Jag&Daimler or Venue-X. Perhaps these events could be run on bank holiday Mondays as most people are not working on those?? Hope the honey-moon is going well Ian, some good mracing happening at the moment - when are you home? Did you get my text about the genny? New plug sorted it. |

![]() If all the drivers involved in the tie have done or are able to complete 10 rounds count ten, if still a tie go to next best score,and if this does not resolve it go to highest score in first round. This would be more inline with common practice in full scale racing, but as you have so many rounds it is difficult to be fair to everyone |

I would love a multi-round national series at several venues. If wanted I could take over an event in drop inn or somewhere else up north here. Drop Inn has the indoor hall but it also has a lot of ground outside which although it would take some work, could be cleaned up to run a race outdoors with indoor pitting and power. |

Hi all,
Got a lengthy and well composed email from Dave Bolger on this subject. From memory, he suggests that where two or more competitors are tied and have maximum scores in a championship - the driver with the most TQ's from his/her nominated rounds will be the winner. Sounds good to me.
