After noticing Kyosho have just brought out some new 'big bore' shocks, Any plans for Durango to go down the 'big bore' route??

I think it would be a bit tricky getting big bores on a DEX410 as the front drive shafts run very close to the std shocks.

But I would like to see someone try it out!

Check out the pics of the new 2010 specs car to see how to get a bit more clearance up front (don't know if it's intentionally really, but shock mounts for the rear are mounted up front)

Gonna say, it only needs the shock spacing forwards 2mm or so.
Should be possible.

Has anyone tried fitting the Schumacher Big Bore shocks?

Not sure if they would fit but just a thought, if so, maybe someone would do a days test at there local club or something, give us all some feedback on how they affect the car

Yes the Durango one's work perfectly fine! and there isn't anything wrong with them what so ever!

There was nothing wrong with the shocks on the Schumacher or Kyosho, but they still introduced big bore shocks

depends who you talk to, loads put losi shocks on!

But that's called personal preference! nothing actually wrong with them, the original ones worked and did there job!

People use yellow wheels, doesn't mean the white ones don't work!

Thats why Durango are releasing the 2010 with yellow wheels!!!

What do you have to do around here to get a simple answer to a simple question of curiosity without sarcasm?

i'm working on getting a complete set of schumacher big bores myself...the bottom fo the springs on those big bores are tapered so clearance shouldn't be an issue...then i'll get the shock caps anodized black and the lower cap anodized red to match the durango shocks...when i get this done i'll post pics

why would you want to replace one of the best shocks around with rubber boots, for another brand? The durango shocks are awesome and keep the oil very fresh.

Could not resist the temptation nicked the shocks of the Cougar and tried them on the cat last night at broxtow, so this morning offered them up to the Durago .

To fit them on the front you will have to pack out the bottom with a 3mm spacer 2mm just might touch the spring. the big problem is getting the top mounted . In the R version they have 4mm holes not the standard 3mm and used a custom post this post will need to be packed out by around 1 to 2mm this also leads to a problem with the plastic bush, don't believe that the bush will fit into the Schumacher Shock caps. but because of the larger holes on the shock tower we carn't use the normal M3 long bolt and the bushes from the Schumacher. will need some more investigation.

Same problem with the Rears but the rear drive shafts have a lot more clearance and would not need to be packed out.

Oh and i have fitted the shock boots to the Big bores sick of looking at the oil leaking from the Schmachers shocks (LoL) what you carn't see don't bother you. (and i did use Green Slime on the Orings) plating comming off the inside from the piston rubbing.

If i ever get the shocks fitted and tried out i'll let you Know.

One more thing i forgot to mention is the Schumacher big bores are shorter then the durangos by around 5 mm between the mounting centers. this will reduce the droop front and rear .The amount of front compression is the same but the rear is less so the rear might bottom out on landing. to increase the rear compression you could use the short ball grippers but this would decrease the rear droop even more by around a further 5mm. you don't want to be doing this. on the front i have fitted 2mm of internal spacers in the durago shocks as i have too much droop anyway but feal that fitting the schumacher shock would take away far to much Droop and not work right.

So After all this Don't Bother
