New to lipos.. advice needed

I've just bought my first Lipo pack: a 3200 2S Overlander (25c) and an Etronix Powerpal balancer charger. On its first balanced charge, the pack only took around 1600 mAh. Would it have been supplied with a partial charge in it?

Yes, because they become unstable when there are flat. You should always store them with some charge in as a rule, although i never do.

i had 2 packs of these last year and didnt last me very long,not sure if it was me but i never ran them low or over charged them and a cell in each pack shot within a week or 2 of each other,i was told to set the charger 200mah lower then the battery capacity is so you dont over charge to stop them from screwin up but still happend,bought some cheap hong pongy 1s of ebay and are doin me well so far very pleased with them,hope that helps
