Wink True 13.5 Stock Touring Car Racing this Sunday at Ardent Raceway

Still running old brushless systems without turbo boost etc..? then be competitive this weekend at Ardent when we will have heats for true STOCK racing. I and other regulars will be running our Tekin's with the Tekin Vegas 208 software with zero advance applied.

This means we will have no advantage over older (non turbo, non-advance timing) brushless systems.

So level playing field for all, there's not much other racing on this Sunday so why not come along and see who is the best driver, not the richest.

Hope we see you Sunday, 3 qualifying rounds, 2 finals, trophies for the winners, £6 members, £8 non-members, doors open 09:00, finish around 15:30.

Afterwards we have flight night, so if you have electric indoor planes or helicopters then bring them and stay on for some indoor flying!.

Great idea.

Turbo speedos are a step backwards in so many ways. Too much tweaking, too much load on the motors if you get it wrong, and for what? A few tenths on the long straights and a loss of throttle feel?

I raced for the first time in six months last night on a relatively small track. My 13.5 with timing (Speed Passion) was uncontrollably fast, there is no way I could have made use of a turbo. And I'm an OK driver, give a new racer that kind of power and they would be in the wall at every corner.

I think I'll be downloading the untimed software myself and trying that next time. 13.5 with timing is too fast for most club tracks.

Definitely, just myself, Ian, Nigel and the Red Hoodie gang fancy giving old school 13.5 another shot. We will be in the 'Old School' Stock class and the normal 13.5 with the advanced timing will be in the usual 13.5 Stock Class :-)

So yes, come along and play as usual :-) I might even run both old school and normal to give you some competition. In fact if anyone fancies trying both then I will not charge any extra wonga but please keep an eye on motor temperatures if you are doing one race after another!! you could always alternate between qualifiers and then do both finals, depending on numbers I am sure we could have a fun chilled and relaxed day.

Remember if you have indoor planes or helis then bring them along too for afterwards :-)
