Default Joining Stotfold MCC

Hi all,

Looking at joining a local(ish) club for racing. I mainly run nitro but have had a B4 for a while now and it's an awesome bit of kit. I'd love to try a bit of racing with that and possibly an SC10 if you cater for them.

How do I go about coming along? Never easy joining a club on your own either but none of my friends are interested in racing sadly.

Cheers

Will

Hello Will

Come along to a club meeting, Wednesday nights or Sundays times all posted on the club website, we are all a friendly bunch and you will just need to have a chat with Keith who runs the club regarding joining. Trucks are run as well if they have enough they have their own heat but if not they go in with the 2wds.

If you are already a BRCA member bring along your membership card, if not no worries. If you have BRCA membership just means your club memebership is a little cheaper as you need the BRCA membership for insurance cover

I've been to Stotfold twice recently and I'm really enjoying it. It's great to get back into racing after 17 years absence!

I understand this Wednesday is normal club night but what about 4wd on Sunday? Keith said I could look up the 4WD entries on the website but I can't register yet because I havn't got my BRCA number yet. Is it worth coming on Sunday?

Luke,

Keith would have been referring to the fact that Stotfold is hosting a 2wd Regional this weekend (25 July). 4wd will be catered for in an 'open' class (i.e. no points scoring).

The website he was referring to is www.dmsresults.co.uk. Currently there appear to be only 2 people pre-booked for 4wd. You can enter on the day if you wish. I'm assuming you've paid for your BRCA membership, in which case it shouldn't be a problem that you don't have your number just yet.

Regards,

Andy.

Hey Luke,

I would expect there will be at least one 4wd heat and theres only 2 people booked into that at the moment so it looks good, but it depends how many people turn up looking for national practice. Best bet would be to speak to Keith Wednesday or maybe email/call him.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't have a BRCA membership yet. Will I need that before I can run on the track? Also, spec wise for my B4, I'm running a Novak Havoc Ballistic 8.5 setup. Is that race legal (please say it is as it cost a small fortune). I know my LiPo isn't legal, Turnigy 2S 5000mAh 20C?

Cheers

I think you can race up to 3 times as a "guest", but thereafter you need to have BRCA membership for insurance purposes.

Your motor appears to be legal (homologation lists for motors and batteries are here).
