Tyres and foam inserts and lipo handling

Here goes.

i was running on a slightly damp track at bately today as the meeting had been cancelled. My B4 running nimhs had plently of grip running yellow mini pins and blue foams.

Another guy running red foams and yellow mini spikes had no grip with his cougar sv.
When i loaned my rear tyres he gained grip back.
The question is will mini pins in the dry give to much grip and lead to grip roll?
Cause looking at the minispikes with red foams they seem to have a big air gap and a thus a big slip angle.

Also my B4 with nimh seem to be very stable and controllable with 12x2 what would i need to do to keep the same feel when i convert to lipos.
where would i need to add weight e.t.c or change the damping.
