Default RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TENT

I AM CONSIDERING BUYING A TENT FOR RACE MEETINGS AND POSSIBLY FAMILY HOLS. ANYONE OUT THERE GOT ANY RECOMMENDATIONS? CHEAP IS PRIORITY, PIT SPACE IS NEXT AND HEADROOM IS ALSO IMPORTANT (I'M ONLY 5 FOOT 9 BUT DONT WANNA GET A BAD NECK). MUST BE WATERPROOF (OBVIOUSLY)
ANY ADVICE, AS ALWAYS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Baldy:

Make sure you get one that provides shade, ie a dark colour, yesterday, ours was like an oven inside because the sun shone straight through it, its light grey. The ones which look cylindrical look pretty good, i got a six berth one mainly for the extra space and it fits easily in the 406`s boot with my F8 bag , beds etc etc.

We have a Outwell Montana 6 it has been used for all the nationals this year. It has two bedrooms plenty big enough and the living are is very big. the canopy is a good addition to it. It fits 4 adults a child and a dog easily. The main reason for getting this tent is that it is totaly enclosed(fixed ground sheet)so that the creept crawlys dont get in(her indoors demanded this). We got it for £250 in the sale at winfields so dont know the full price.

Good point that Lee, hadnt thought of that, but you would have thought a bright colour reflected the light/heat? I have been looking at one on ebay, 6 birth, and it gets some really good reviews, just gotta ask the mrs now.! Oh S**t!

It does but the darker colours seem to block out the sunlight also, which provides shade, our didnt and it was like a sauna, also i would go for one which really opens up so it can be gazebo like.

I have one of these. nice tent, good size. The poles are crap though, soft alloy that bends easily. It also gets roasting in the heat but all tents do.

The material isn't all that thick either. For the price you can't beat it, but if your budget is higher get a nevada tent by pro action in Argos. THey go on ebay for about £50 also.
