I was after on some info on tyre adative for off road tyres.
We race on a polished floor with Sch Yellow full spikes, there are a few quick lads doing something to their tyres and they seem nice and soft Has anyone got any ideas on adatives/tricks to soften up the rubber? I was thinking of trying some of my LRP TC adative on them |

cs high grip applied with a paint brush works best in that situation. We use it at Ribble on Dirt Hawgs for carpet use. works a treat. Another way to condition the tyres is soak them in cs high grip and put them in a sealed butty bag over night

Thanks for that Kev, I'll go to local model shop and see if they have some in stock.
I have heard of some people soaking the tyres in WD40 to soften the tyres up but I think this dries them out a bit once it's dried off |

Addittives in offorad is not done, as its not allowed at BRCA meetings. But what you do at your club is not governed by BRCA rules - its the clubs choice. But generally it is not done because the additive may damage the sportshall floor, or generally the surface is grippy anyway (carpet indoors, grass or astro outdoors).
I have raced off-road on an indoor touring car track, Jubilee Arena in Bury. it was actually very good. I ran bald tyres and they were best after being 'run-in', as the track was full of additives from the snorers - and our tyres just soaked this up and picked up rubber. Oh I forgot, when i ran Mardave V12's with rubber M1 tyres, we used TQ Orange - using it regular until the rubber turned soft and then they're great. An idea for you, is firstly try degreasing them with a strong degreaser, such as dirt devil. This will make the rubber more rubbery. Then try the TQ Orange. |

I wash my tyres with washing up liquid to remove all the grease when i'm running on shiny floor. My tyres seem to pick up a lot of grease after a few runs. I give em a quick wash in the sink and their good again.

Additives are for touring cars.
Additives are gay. Therefore touring cars are gay, just like yellow wheels... ![]()

Touring cars without additives are also pretty gay. Yellow wheels are more gay in a hardcore way though.

However, yellow is not gay if it is the compound of the tyre you are using...such as Schumacher yellow's.
That's not gay. But mounting them on yellow wheels is gay and inexcusable ![]()

Hmmmmmmmm not true prob is (alledgly) someone is using additive which then coats the floor an gives us less grip.

I agree about what you have all said, additive is for TC and TC is
![]() Yellow wheels are a bit gay too! ![]() It was just a thought really and something to try out if it gives you an advantage, i suppose if one person does it we all may have to. Its a funny old surface to race on polished wood so I suppose people will try these things! |

GAY!!
I could understand (but not forgive) if there was plenty of yellow in the bodyshell, but there isn't. Burn the car immediately as it has been contaminated. ![]()
