Would really like your help guys! You britts got a lot more experience racing on turf. Up here in Sweden we got 3 tracks with turf so it is "new" to us. Our is the newest and we have an old but very fresh football turf. The grass is very short and tight. Not like the others who have longer grass and not so tight.
At the Stockholm track they solved their traction problems with sand on the track. That does not work for us. It only works as long the sand stays on the turf. When it is gone after some time, the traction rolls come back. Have tried to really work the sand down into the carpet but no. The only tyre that even comes to work is yellow minispikes. Works best if you cut away most of the pins or if you run them down on tarmac first!?! What other ways is there to make it more less grippy? Getting it through setups on the cars seems almost impossible. What about other compounds from Schumacher? Green or blue. Losis or prolines are just hopeless. Too slippery instead. I am confused. Would letting greasy 1:8 buggys run on it for a day help ha ha? The guy on the video is the one car that got the least amount of problems..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doXHlvH_ytQ |

Stagger Ribs on the front? Maybe even in 4wd? Might be worth asking some people who go to Belgium, as it looks very similiar?

Looking at the tyres of the car in the video they it looks like only the outer rear row has been cut? I could be wrong so sorry if thats the case.
At some astro tracks very worn yellow mini spikes, with 2 rows removed inside and outside front and one row inside and outside rear from the tyres is common. Using new tyres is quite uncommon if you have a look at pictures from stotfold and EPR you will see plenty of very worn looking tyres on the cars. I have also used 2wd front tyres mounted on 4wd rims on the front of my 4wd before. |

Yes that is the thing to. Staggerd ribs are wihtout a doubt the best front 2wd tyre on our track. Everything else under steer badly except for minipins and minispikes. That because the rear has got too much grip, both on 2wd and 4wd. The 2wds have to run their slippers very loose or they wheely everywhere.
As I said, I`m confused. Too much grip and too little. The track is perfect when its damp with a fresh set of minispikes. Thats way i want to lower the grip in general all over the track. How??? Just read your reply Pro4nut. Perhaps thats the way to go then. Dont like the idea of cutting up new tyres ![]() |

Try a lower ridehight so it has less role in the corners aiding to grip role.
But make shure its still enough ride height to get around the track and jumps. |

We are trying everything. Tried that to.
Its like driving Touring cars. Want to get that buggy feel back if you know what I mean. At the Sthlm track they got that. Turf but still that genuine offroad feel. Its a surprise party each lap you complete without a roll. Not the same place every time it rolls either. Hits you without warning ![]() |

Have you tried the following:
- Different kinds of inserts (soft vs. hard) - Anti-roll bars - Heavier car to increase stability (it works over here) - Roll centers - More anti-squat - More camber - Smaller piston ? |

Two rows front and inner. And the track seems a lot like ours. Going to try that. Lets put i like this. Had completely worn down tires without any spikes at all left. First time ever I could really push the car and I was fast as hell
![]() Have to bite the dust on this one and cut them little spikys off. Thanks guys. Thought we have found the worlds most grippy turf ever. Obviously the way to go is to cut. |
