Bit of an update for you guys...

Just got back from the track and we have laid a bit more turf to sort out some of the ruts and the track is is pretty much finished...no nasty kick ups left in sight

The mini treble was flatened by Mr Powney on sunday and in its place a nice double has been erected and is clearable with the downslope being smooth enough to land on safely..

Grass has been trimmed again this evening and the banked curve has been strimmed nice and short..

Heres a pic of the track layout, its not a great pic as its from Rich's phone but it shows what you are all facing on sunday

Its pretty much the layout we were going to run for last years 2wd Regional which was called off due to rain, Ive tried to utilize the best parts of the grass as there were still a few bald spots from the winter series, hence the turf !!

I your not aleady booked in, get involved !!!

www.brca-midwest.co.uk

Cheers

See you all sunday

Lee

Thank you to Ledbury for the days racing today, really enjoyed it. Track was kinda old skool, like when I used to race my hotshotII in the late 80s. That is not a bad thing, it was rustic

Food was good too.

finished 7th in the B. Result!

For 2WD, you need to make sure that the more rustic parts of the track are driveable for 2WD..

N

ps: only downside was the grass fire. I think that was to keep away evil spirits?

pps. Bring on more Polish asparagus picking girls with yellow trousers and black hair (Roundy knows what I mean).

Great meeting today!

I went better than expected and somehow managed to finish 3d in the C. I even got clapped and cheered in the first round for doing the jump in reverse

I didn't think that I would enjoy the track at all, but I found it great. The only thing I'd change for 2wd is the doubles as they seemed a little too steep and they had next to no grip. What were the fires all about???

I'll definately be there for 2wd.

Oh, when do you race as a club??

Had a good day's racing Nice to race on a challenging grass track - really enjoyed it when I got the racing line right. Double jumps were a bit random, guess these would be a struggle with 2WD but the rest of the track was ace. Cheers for all the hard work Lee.

Hi guys

Thanks for the feedback.. Neil that track was bang up to date for us country folk !!

The remaining "rustic" parts will be sorted for 2wd, to be fair ran the X6 round last week when building the track and it went well..

with regards to the doubles they were profiled to run clockwise but due to marshall safty at the table top we had to run in reverse and didnt have time to change this morning..

These are going to be re-profilled for running the track either way in the next week or so and have astro laid on them to get rid of the dust and make a bit more consistent

Hope to see you al again at the 2wd in July

Cheers

Lee

Good effort guys really enjoyed the track, nice to be on a grass track that was challenging and allowed little margin for error, its a good idea to astro the doubles as they were inconsistant although i know they were designed to run the other way round, looking forward to the 2wd roundwell done to ian making the A good skills mate

Thanks for the comments.
Yes the doubles are very easy to jump going the other way as we hadnt planned to run them in opposite direction. Easy with 2wd so 4wd would do it with ease.

Were planning to make it so we can run them the correct direction for next meeting.

and get the car abit better.
The grass fires am sorry about they were started over a week ago and the heat seems to just make them start up again on there own lol

Sorry for the late Reply

We had practice nights on a wednesday and club dates are up on our webiste at www.ledburymodelcarclub.moonfruit.com

We dont seem to have many members who do electric racing but if there was enough interest we will quite happily put on a heat of electrics also.

Drop me an email to [email protected] if you fancy coming down.

Our next meeting is on 27th June
