Default What are these Carbon bits for?!

When converting the Cougar to run saddles, what are these carbon bits for?
By that I mean the 2 pieces above the lipo surrounds

I thought they would be battery straps but then looking on Schumachers site they just seem to use the standard carbon top-deck to hold them down

It looks like if your running short, not very tall, saddles, you can stick the carbon things underneath the top deck to bring the height up

The two parts above the lipo tray are battery straps for use with the 'soft' top deck.

They are not required when running the saddle pack tray standard top deck.
