Question Tabletop jump dimensions

Hi All,

We're looking at building some tabletops, singles and corner types.

Please see attached photo - does it look high enough to you and are there any rules of thumb/guidelines for these?

Dims in mm

Thanks,

Dan

I would say it was a bit thin.

If you are using it for regionals minimum width should be 2.5 meters so it would match the track. Also when you are using it as a straight table top I don't think it will be long enough. At WBMCC, on our table top unextended is 2.5 meters and you need to go really slow to hit the down ramp. We extend the length for regionals to about 4 meters and even then most people will clear it with very little effort.

I definately would say make it wider as it makes it easier to line up for then.

Hi Folks, Rob, Dan

In the drawing i was playing around with what i could do with a 5 x 10ft sheets. not nearly big enough.

So three or four 8 x 4ft sheets put together for a table top plus a couple more for the ramps at either end is more like it.

in this drawing the tops are 610mm high which makes an 8 x 4 ramp 30 degrees. is this in the ball park ?

I'd say 30deg is a little on the steep side, around 20deg will make it smoother and should make hitting the downside easier! could try giving them a little curve to get a bit more 'air' if you want.
