Where can I get a legal version of Windows XP - (Any Sp) from. I have a laptop here with a brand new hard drive without an os. I only want the download (Iso/etc. file) as I have got a genuine product key - just not the disk for xp.
I have looked on Microsoft and no joy, they only got the service pack updates on there. Carl |

btmon.com, its your serial number that makes it legal, you will need to download the appropriate version for your serial no. if its an xp home sp2 serial no. then thats what you need to download

I should of added - I know it's the product key that makes it legal but all the downloads I have found are all dodgy versions which are pre-activiated (illeagally)
Plus the version I am looking for is Xp Profesional Carl |

misco/dabs might sell it.
Otherwise try your local secondary school, see if you can get them to do it for you. Explain you have the key, they most likely will be able to install it for you, or even make a disc. HTH

xp downloaded normally has a crack you have to install after a normal windows installation to activate, which you shouldnt have to use if you have your own key not a dodgy one. this is how i picked up my xp pro, have legal key supplied with a pc but no disk, so just downloaded and ignored crack
