Default Getting the new Cat SX2 - existing Cat SX owners?

What are people going to do with the new version of the Cat SX?

I am sticking with the old car. Don't see the need to buy a new car really. My car has probably done 10 meeting top so is still in good condition. May look at the big bores as the season goes on but I am not going to go straight out and buy them. The other parts on the car I will just replace as and when I am out of stock of the parts.

I will not be buying the new Cat Sx2. Waste of money in my view. The shocks look good but i am running a set of Losi shocks on my Cat and they are brilliant.

May buy some of the Sx2 parts for my Cat Sx but no way the car. I havent got £320 pound to spare

Cheers

I'm on the fence at the moment about whether to replace the car or not. The big upgrade is the shocks. I too have been running Losi shocks, but would rather run OEM shocks.

What other areas do people see as a major step?

I wouldn't rush out and buy the shocks just yet, they are unproven. Nobody knows how they will handle the bumps so it's pointless until you know they will make an improvement to your existing set up

Very valid point, but the team have had success with them.

Don't have to pretty sure Carl, I know they have been tested on more than one track. It's common sense really!!

I'm sticking with mine. Big bore shocks aside there's not a lot of difference and I'd be very surprised if I or any other average club racer would be able to go any quicker with them anyway!?

The chassis with the industry standard lipo cutouts is good and if you haven't already replaced your old chassis with the new type (assuming it's the new-ish stiff chassis?) you can dremel the holes into the old style chassis for free anyway.

Maybe the new plastic pivot pin hangers will be less prone to damage so they could be a good thing to add to an old car. The plastic steering arms and bearing housings must just be a cost cutting exercise though which is why the SX2 is being priced less than the SX?

Don't get me wrong I would like a new car, but it's hardly very diffeent to the old one + it's got more plastic bits on it! Cue SX2 owners upgrading from plastic to alloy bits................

Think I'm going to focus the money on the Cougar and upgrade the Cat SX bits as and when.

I've already got the previous chassis upgrade for LIPOs so other than the big bore shocks, what else.?

That's a good option, shocks are probably the most improved item, the new spur's look good as well!!!

I've thought about that too, but haven't had a problem since changing to RW spurs.
