Default E-Tamiya

Anyone used this shop before ? Do you know whether they usually email you a tracking number for EMS orders like Dinball and RC Mushroom do ? I ordered a kit and a load of extras via EMS a week tommorrow and my order is still listed as "processing" currently

Serves me right for bragging about how easy it is to get parts from HK

Send an email to Iris and copy in Anthony and you should get a response.
(pm'ed actual emails rather than post on a forum).

Found them easy to deal with and comms was good.
Took a while for items to arrive, but their suppliers were playing them up.

Stuff's sound.

Well, heres the follow on story

Initially, I emailed them to ask whether they had a 511 in stock. She replied within 2 hours saying yes we do you can order at any time. I placed the order along with quite a few other parts that were listed as in stock on their website. The stuff that was out of stock was greyed out and so gave me confidence that they were only listing stuff that they had. I went for the £50 EMS shipping option. 3 to 7 business days it claims on their checkout. Anyway, 6 days after placing the order i email them again to ask where the EMS tracking number is. My account was still listing my order as "processing". They reply with "sorry for the delay its not yet despatched as we dont hold lots of stock. We are collecting the items from the warehouse"

I told them that i only placed the order on the back of them saying they had it and asked what the point of the EMS £50 shipping option was ! !

Needless to say i was pretty pissed off and told them to cancel the order and refund me in full immediately.

Since then the comms have gone quiet aside from one email telling me they "are sending my items, and refunding me for what they havent got". They claim that my items are despatched and i will get the tracking number "later"

My account still shows as "processing", they are clearly playing for time now.

I have told them thats not good enough and i want my money back. They havent even told me what im getting sent. They have got just shy of £500 of my money at the minute. Sadly as i dont use a credit card, its straight out of my account too so i cant use the card company to sort it for me
I await to see the outcome.
The comms have been pretty good up until close of business Friday but theres definiotely a feel of "your having it when we get it"

If there is a happy outcome to this then ill be sure to post it up.

In the meantime, a very kind fella i know from Austria whos on here and on TamiyaClub offered to buy a 511 from Germany up front for me and ship it over to the UK. I took him up on his kind offer and paid for that too. Its now on its way.

I may end up with two Tamiya 511 kits at this rate

Living on Heinz for the rest of the month

I´m sure you will be able to sell the seconds kit immediately. Maybe the nice guy in Austria is able to buy one if he has some Cash at that particular time
I really hope that etamiya will sort this for you and fully refund you the money. It is simply unacceptable to pay 50 Pounds for EMS and have the status prcoessing after a full WEEK!

More developments.

Despite them saying that they had the 511 they now admit that they cant get any more. So, insead of cancelling my order and refunding me they have sent what they had and still charged me the full £50.42 postage. This for for some wheels, turnbuckles, wishbones. springs and a front shock tower.
Whats more despite my repeated requests for refunding, they have asked whether i want store credit or alternative goods ! No mention of my emails at all

That was the final straw for me so i have opened a Paypal dispute against them. Avoid like the plague

OK they dragged their heels and it took numerous emails, stress and a Paypal dispute but i got my £360.00 back at last. Thought id let everyone know to be fair to ETamiya.

Their comms were pleasant but them refunding me should be as quick as me paying them. It takes three clicks of a mouse not a week or more. Have to admit i thought id lost my money.

One thing that is worth mentioning. They requested that i cancel my Paypal dispute before they refunded me. I told them that there was no way i was going to do that because they had let me down once already and it was my only guarantee of getting my money back! I filled in the section that was requested by Paypal giving an amount we had agreed on as partial refund of £360.00 ( this was despite the fact that i had requested to cancel the whole order before they posted it! )

Anyway, i escalated the Paypal dispute to a claim and Paypal immediately closed it ( automated email ) stating that quality and quantity of goods not received are not part of their terms and conditions for buyer protection !

Be wary if you ever have to end up doing a claim guys - dont tick the "part of shipment received" box - go for the lot or you`ll get screwed over by Paypal aswell as the seller

As for using ETamiya again, i wouldnt bother unless you`re not in a huge rush for the bits and keep your eye on the postal charges. I think they are generally honest thank god, just the stock listing isnt accurate and they drag heels if theres a problem.

Alls well that ends well anyway.
