Kyosho Pistons!

Hi...
This may have been asked in one of ther other posts but i cudnt find it

Anyway could someone tell me why people or if you have drilled the kyosho pistons to 1.5?? what differences it makes in the car please..?

And is it both holes on piston at 1.5mm o just 1 hole

hasnt been asked yet nick but its simple. When we went to tivvy and the track really rutted up we realised the car had to much pack on the front. being as my knowledge on pistons is from 1/8th racing i stuck with what i knew and went 2 hole and started at 1.5mm (dont ask y) but it seemed to really work and so have stuck with it. with less pack the car doesnt seem to jump about as much on the really rutty stuff and so is easier to push through those types of sections. and its both holes out to 1.5mm. u will find this hardly touches the rear pistons but takes loads out of the fronts

with drillings these holes doesnt it make the car alot softer??

yeah we will be at kiddy,come on over we will be pitting in a blue gazeebo on the side off a pop up caravan,(also known as hotel le trek)burgandy vectra estate,should be enough info for you to find us

oh and yes it does make the car softer hence the 40wt in the front as we were only running 25wt before

Jimmy says in he's review that the suspension was too soft aout of the box, but I can see that the trend here is towards even softer i.e. 1,5mm piston holes and yellow/blue springs.
It seem that softer setup really works though ? Does it ? :jimmeh

yeah it makes the car a lot softer but the handling has been transformed since i have drilled them. The car was aload of s*** at kiddy (nearly sold it) Then drilled them out tried it at bury metro without a roll bar and it was fantastic!!!!

I just got the car and have not been able to run it yet.
I all ready made a set of 1,5 pistons though

on astroturf tarmac dirt variable weather im doing this mod to mine from what i here the car is awesome with this setup

The first ride is behind now and the car was behaving nicely indeed
Jumps were no problem and high speed driving on the bumpy straights were no problem either.
Just need some practising now because it's been ten years since the last time I drove an off road truck.
