Default Brushless gearing on an XX4WE

Hi All,

I'm trying to get the gearing right on my XX4WE. I'm running an LRP vector 1 star on the stock spur, currently with a 22 pinion.

The problem is the car doesn't have much off the line and the motor is getting VERY hot. Is it over geared?

just a little
1 star and purple should be around 14 15 pinion of course depends on size of track but 15 should be a good starting point
yellow i would start at 13 pinion if u can get it to mesh

Really? That low? I think I have a 16 kicking about in the pit box.. I'll try that and if its better I'll get a 14.

Cheers Carl

were running a 5.5 and a 6.5 in our xx4we on a purple spur and we run 13-16 with the 5.5,
and 15 - 19 with a 6.5

Just tried a 16 - It felt a bit too low (on 2/3 worn practice tyres). The only other smallish one was a 19, that was a tad too high I think.

I'll try an 18, see how that goes.

1 Star is 8.5 turn, so i you maybe an odd tooth overgeared - but not a massive amount i wouldn't have thought.

Initially i tried it on the BMX track where I practice, last night after changing pinion yeah it was just out on the street/front garden (I call it my multi-surface practice track )

I'll go pick an 18 up today anyway

Thanks again all.

Tom
