Default Backing up a DVD

I'm in need of backing up a few DVD's that I legally own obviously, but am not sure how to do it these days.

What software is available that:

A) doesn't require 4 pieces of other software to get to the finished article
B) works
C) doesn't take a age

Ta,

G

I need one that will put it to Ipod Touch format, will DVD shrink do that?

Ive done it before, but it was freeware on a time trial, and required secondary software, took an age, overly complicated.

There's a free converter called Super that will.

i thought DVD shrink wouldn't crack the decryption on disks, mearly compressed them?
I always used it in conjunction with DVDdecrypter

Chris,

Have a look at Handbrake for Windows/Mac...its ace.

Puts it into iPod format for you straight from the DVD. Doesnt do menu's or ought, but means you can import straight into iTunes.

DVDfab ...........is fab decrypts, shrinks and can save out as ipod/psp/utube etc

30 day free trail then you are hooked, i find I can save out as an iso then burn with imgburn, but dVDfab will burn, and if you have 2 drives you can walk away and leave it.

Seems to be a version of DVDdecrypter with a user friendly front end, was a better buy when the pound was stronger !

What i use is, Rip with DVDFAB, Shrink with DVDshrink (Save as ISO), Burn with imgbrn, I found nero would not burn some discs correctly straight from shrink, Now I always burn from ISO with no probs at all

i used to use ripit4me, which ran the whole process. it opened up DVDdecrypter and dvd shrink automatically and did the whole process for you. It also removed the silly pirate dvd trailers and things that come on before the dvd main menu.

But i agree with JC, dvdfab is also very good. Used this a few times when dvddecrypter got shelved by Sony, as it wasn;t updated with the latest encryption like dvdFab was.
