Default Rotor/ratio help

Hi All

I have a 13.5 fantom ION brushless motor with a 12.3mm rotor and i gear it on my local track at 5.24, I have obtained a 13.00mm rotor for this motor and not sure how to gear it? would i need to gear up or down? also how different will the motor perform with a larger rotor?

any ideas

Cheers for your help

I'd gear up 2-4 teeth as the step up is quite large from 12.3mm to 13mm.

What you'll find is that with the larger rotor you'll have more torque and it'll feel punchier but you will lose top end, so you have to compensate by gearing up.

Your motor might also stay a little cooler as the larger rotor is more efficient.
