Default Demon Firecracker Cells

Looking to buy some of the above cells....

Does anybody have any experience of them, and what are your thoughts on their lifespan/longevity?

I was looking to get the "team competition" packs, if they are in stock, failing that the cheaper "club packs".

If these are not the ones to go for, can anybody suggest an alternative?

The ni-mih cells i use now are GP3700's and are about 2 years old, so it's been a while since i looked at buying cells.

Thanks for any info!

Hey Chris,

Colin has bought a few packs of these and seems to rate them quite highly. They've recently become legal I think as well and have a slightly higher voltage similar to the GP4300.

Perhaps search for colinevan and PM him directly?

Not consiering the Kapow 4500's on the demon website??? At £27.50 a pack I'd be tempted to get a few sets and rag them at 6 - 7A charging!!!!

Russ.

David Pack has been using the Firecracker cells this season. They are very punchy, and seem to be ok so far.

The only problem he has, is that they go out of sync (I dont know the correct terminology) ie. they were matched and become unmatched.

If you equalise them before each charge, as he does, they are fine, however if you dont, you will find some cells becoming overcharged compared to others after a few cycles. I know this happens with all cells, but firecrackers appear to be more suseptible to this.

I like the colour...reminds me of 3 Feet High and Rising album cover.

Let's hope that Kapow doesn't refer to them exploding though!

I'm not really bothered about aesthetics, as long as they go well and last a while...especially at that price(!!)...but there is probably a lot of truth in the saying that "you get what you pay for".

Or....is it just that the corporate monsters would have us believe this, when in fact they cost far less to produce? Hmmmmm. My synicism-sense is tingling.

Anyone got these Kapow cells? What are they like?
