Default Newbie - decisions, decisions..

Going to purchase a new 1/10 off road buggy, budget is limited, but I think I've narrowed it to either
Sportwerks Raven
or
New Traxxas Bandit
Does anyone have any opinion/expierience of these two vehicles?
They are the same price, both ready to run and seem well spec'd (to me), so any feedback is appreciated.
Or can you suggest an alternative???

Thanks
Stu

Although £50 extra, the B4 is the race chassis for beginners and pros alike. For £179 its perfect for racing if need be. It'll be twice as good as the other two for you

Agree 100%.

With respect to the 2 manufacturers above, what would happen if you broke something at racing?

If you chose the B4, its virtually guaranteed that someone at your club will have a spare for what you have broken

Iv seen the b4 combo slightly cheaper on ebay. Have a shop around. But trust me dont go down the other route with the other 2 cars. - May sound harsh, but its by far the best way to go

This one from the same shop. I'll be honest with you though, if this is a local shop, use them. However if its mail order i'd go elsewhere. I personally dont like the attitude that iv had with them over the years iv used them, I now use others

I used to be sponsored by Traxxas and had an old Bandit which a got when they first came into the country. I did make some changes to the car but the car was very good for a beginner. I did shorten the chassic by an inch, alloy screws everywhere, Team shocks on it and titanium turn buckles. I have won Regionals with this car. Good car.lol

The Raven bx is ok but for the extra few quid a RTR b4 is the way to go IMO

Thanks for the replies. I've been down this improvement road before. Bought a Tamiya Super fighter G for my son for £130 with radio gear, charger etc. Before 2 months were up I'd spent another £200 on motors, bearings, shox, ESC etc. So didn't want to make the same mistake. The use will mainly be bashing around but may go to local indoor club over winter.
This new buggy is to replace that Tamiya as it, and loads of other stuff were stolen from garage a couple of months ago. But the budget is pretty tight as th insurance are refusing to pay for all the items stolen.

You have to get the B4, you will regret it otherwise, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life...

Having not raced 2wd for many years, i bought a b4 last week and it has to be the best 2wd i've ever had for excellent all round perfomance and hopefuly durability. Do a bit of busking for the extra cash and go with the B4!!!
