Post losi xcelorin 6.5t motor with esc

Hi,

I've just purchased a Lazer-ZX05 RTR and have been racing with it a few times at Stotfold RC Club, as you could probablly guess im a bit slow compared to the others.

I'm looking for the losi xcelorin 6.5t motor with ESC but cheaper than the brand new price .

if anyone has one for sale cheap then i'd be willing to ask for more details .

Thanks,
James - A total newbie to Buggy racing, used to Mardave V12

Hi,

Can I suggest you start with something slower? I'd also stay away from Losi ESCs as I've know a few people who have had problems.

Mike

Post EZRun 13.5

Hi,

Thanks for the posts so far, i can confirm that its a EZRun 13.5 turn Motor.

everybody else at the club is basically running 6.5t motors so i presumed i should, could you recommend anything else... of course remembering that it's got to be cheaper than £130 (Still in shock)!

if you could get back to me with your opinion that would be great

130 is pretty good for a 6.5t combo, quite reasonable compared to many other brands! like what mikeyscott says, get your car set up, learn how to drive a buggy and then go for something faster. Don't be tempted to run before you can walk as you'll just end up with a pile of broken wishbones. I have used sensorless EZrun stuff in the past and a 12t geared up (probably too much, but mine coped with it quite well) could keep pace with with lower turned motors.

Unless of course you can set your end point on your handset?

I'd look into replacing the driveshafts in that zx5 rtr if you're going to run 6.5. I don't think they'll take it.

Got mine from here:

My 6.5 was a bit quick for me at first so I just turned the throttle limit down to 80% (either using the software or on your transmitter if you have that facility). Quite a few people at my club use them without any issues.

Thanks Col, however when i purchased my ZX-5 from eBay at an amazing price of £37, i changed most of the parts to parts that suited me, including aluminum Ball diffs and drive-shafts.

If your wondering why it was £37, it's because the universal shaft had broken (2WD), replaced them with 3Racing ones for £8 compared to Kyosho's £45 and was good to go!

Thanks for the link Chris, however i decided to go for a 9 turn motor (Another EZRUN) but instead of 13.5t it's a 9t so i will be a bit faster and will not have to worry about a 6.5t motor braking those knuckle hub's and carriers (a huge weakness to the car).

Thanks for that! shame i missed the deal, as it was a bargain price but sadly i missed it .
