Default Centered motor

While rebuilding the gearbox I had an idea.

Using a longer slipper shaft and longer screws I moved the motor plate by about 5mm and could get away with about 7-8mm.

Here are some pics. Let me know if you reckon this will work.

You don't want to center the weight of the motor, you want to center the rotating mass of the rotor. (+pinion gear)
On the X-6², the stock configuration is pretty close to that.

Is that the RC10 hydra top shaft?

Not too sure on the part number. It was a top shaft from an RC10 Team Car Hydra conversion kit. The company was called Speed Craft and the packet was so old the sticky tag had long since dried up and dropped off. If it catches on I hope someone will redo a couple.

I can only center it so far, so the slipper and stuff should be more balanced than before.

Damn Bruno, there I was feeling all cunning and looking forward to trying it out only to find that the unmodified is pretty much spot on...

I do like the look of the centered motor, just looks neater

You need to make sure the arm doesn't hit the spur when the suspension is compressed. I found that 6mm is about the max you can go with a 72t spur

Edit: I just noticed that you have the original X-6. You probably won't have any interference issues since the arms are not straight like on the squared

Hi.

most of tunes give sence, some with some wo. strong effect on the performance of the car.

Does this reposition of the rotating elements and little weight distribution changed the cars performance?

Please explanation...
thnx

Kinwald runs spacers like that. Not that much though.

BTW - Your rear hubs are on backwards. You use the left hub on the right side and vice versa.

Any special reason for this and do you have pictures?
