remove the screws from the fan and leave hanging on its wire. Then take the 2 bottom screws out, the sticky label on the side of the case needs to be lifted and then the bottom half of the case will come off.

The bottom board can be seperated from the top board quite easily ( pulls apart on a pin/socket ) and will give you access to the cables you need to repair.

Hope this helps

Taken the 4 fan screws out & the label of the side and still no luck. the fan screws only go into the fins on the heatsink!
maybe its been glued in the past?

Yes but you need to seperate the fan and bottom board from the heatsink and FETS on the top board as you will most likely of discovered by now
