Default Core-RC chargers

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Core-RC UDC20 and UDC30. I can see that the UDC30 has a cooling fan. Is the UDC20 now outdated? Many model shops seem to still be stocking the UDC20 at the same price as the UDC30 is selling for on the Schumacher website.

Cheers

Ben

The UDC20 has a cooling fan too but it's around the side.

The new UDC30 supports the LiFe type battery, the including charging leads are supplied with Deans connectors for connecting your required lead up instead of the old DC-in style connector. Optional 12V input is a separate lead too meaning the charger is more compact for storage. There's also a LiPo fast charge mode on it too.

When the UDC30 was released the RRP was lower than the 20 I think or roughly the same price. It's a no brainer, go for the UDC30.

Anyone had much experience of these chargers, they seem pretty cheap for what they do?

I've still got my old Schumacher PC5 charger that only charges Nicads so decided I'd like to update

Was looking at the BC6 but this CoreRC unit seems to have more features without the need to splash on say a £140+ Team Orion/LRP unit.

I've been out of the RC circuit for a few years now.

I've just got a UDC-30 and it seems spot on for the money.

Default udc 30

Hi

I use one of these - once you know what to do (instructions are limited in their clarity to say the least) they are dead easy to use and lots and lots and lots of leads.

You will need to buy an adapter as well for plugging in at the wall - make sure you get the one that's right for the 30 as the one for the 20 won't fit. Thats about £18.

Cheers

Jnu

I think I might go for that, or been looking at the Orion Advantage Race Spec Charger as that's only about £77.

I like the idea that some of the higher chargers have USB ports to get pack info from them, but I think that would probably have been more use back in the NiCad / Nimh days.

EDIT:

Ok just seen the Core only does Lithium cells :-( the search continues.
