Default Sanwa transmitter problem

My Super Exzes (40mhz) tx no longer turns on after i accidentally switched it on while charging . I think there is an internal switch which prevents it from turning on and charging at the same time and this may have become stuck. Anybody have any idea how to get this working again?

Have you tried taking the battery out and putting it back in? Might just be a software switch in which case this might clear it.

Worth a try anyway

I've tried taking the batteries out and plugging back in, tried a club members batteries just in case it was my pack that had gone but still no joy. Thanks anyway.

Going to give ripmax a try and see how much it might cost for them to repair it.

My futaba 3cvs can be switched on and off during charging with no problem. My old radio a jr-propo had an internal fuse have you had the back off to check if yours has one before you send it away.

I've had a look but no simple fuse to change or anything that has apparently blown. I think any fuses are circuit mounted so I probably wouldn't even know im looking at it lol.

Ive been thinking of going to 2.4 GHz and been offered a 2nd hand exzes plus Tx/Rx 2.4 GHz for £175 and since the modules themselves cost not much less its a pretty good price i think. Not sure if I should go for that or get the cheaper Core tx for £85. I really like the feel of the Sanwa and not had a chance to hold the Core one so not sure if I would regret being tight by getting the cheaper one.

The fuse that blew in my jr was a small glass 1amp similar to the type you see in an every day plug, located just by the battery tray if I remember.
Re the core see thread

seems a few people like them.

The super Exzes will not turn on while charging, switching it on should make no diff....it just won't work,if you have tried a diff battery the only other thing I can think of off hand is that the charging socket maybe switched, I'll try and have a look later

ok, just took my spare one apart, the charging socket is switched so when you have a charger in it won't turn on, if this is faulty then could cause the handset not to work but to bypass this ain't an easy job for the average racer, if you have a volt meter try the pins on your battery to see if you've got anything there, if you have could it be possible that you have plugged the battery in he wrong way round? there are 3 pins in a super exzes where the batt plugs in on the right side, positive should be at the top nearest the aerial, then negative and the bottom one is spare, if you have plugged it in the wrong way don't worry it won't damage anything, if it still don't work I would need to see it to help more

Thanks mate, battery plug only fits in one way so definitely not that. I've been given contact details of a guy who fixes rc electronics, he reckons around £35 to get it sorted. Since its useless the way it is im sending it off to him but will probably still get the 2nd hand 2.4GHz set and sell all of my 40 meg gear. Wasn't planning on making the move as dont really have any problems with it but the Exzes Plus's dont come up for sale that often so should probably make the most of the opportunity while i can.
