w.r.c.a. ???

I've got a Mad Rat and tried it in practise at the last race we had and it was actually very good. Lots of grip all round and once I'd filled the front end up with lead it was very nicely balanced as well.

Comparing it to my X6 it was similar in the twisty stuff but worse on long, fast corners but nothing a bit of setup work couldn't get rid of.

I was actually really surprised at the performance available for the price. Granted I threw on a set of associated shocks because the original plastic shocks break apart.

The car was astoundingly strong as well, surviving stuff that made me cringe. The original wing disintegrated but all the parts held up really well.

The only thing that doesn't work properly is the slipper clutch. It is out of true so the spur wobbles side to side. It is also either wide open or locked solid, but the diff copes well and was still smooth after about 40 minutes worth of running a 8.5T on carpet so I'm confident it will stand up well.

For the money it really is great!

Welsh Radio Car Association Dan, don't you remember?

Although interestingly a quick google brings up the White Rock Christian Academy & Working Ranch Cowboy's Association.

Not sure if Millzy was after contacting one of them!

But back on topic, DCM has run an Xpro Chris. Also I believe that there was one other Cobra member (Migsy?) who was running a madrat.

I know one of the families were running the Madrat over the winter, and kept braking them, I couldn't get mind to rotate and generate front end grip, and the upgrades that Team C/TQ/Ansmann don't really go anywhere to resolving the situation.

For the money, right now, I would plump for a used B4, until someone starts making weighted parts for the front and rear, with LiPo, your going to spend more time pulling wheelies (which I did outdoors) than steering.

I found, on the kit shocks, you couldn't get them soft or compliant enough to make them effective, and running a 7.5 outdoors, it just wanted to wheelie everywhere.

then you find that the Slipper plates wobble, so does the spur, pads glaze over. Then you got the M4 nut too.....

Just all a pain in the arse
